COOS BAY SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET HOME PAGE Coos Bay School District budget runs from July 1st through June 30th. The Budget is prepared by District Staff and presented to the Budget Committee sometime in the Spring of each year. The Budget Committee receives the budget document, hears patrons, may direct the administration to make dollar adjustments in the proposed budget and approves the budget. After the budget approval, the budget committee’s duties cease. The Budget Hearing is usually held in June. At that meeting the School Board will listen to public testimony on the budget and has authority to adjust the budget that was approved by the Budget Committee. However the budget cannot be increased more than 10 percent and the total property tax to be levied may not exceed the amount shown in the budget financial summary as published with the first notice of the hearing on the budget.
