Dear Coos Bay School District Community,
I hope you all had a chance to relax a bit over the Thanksgiving break. Yesterday, the latest case numbers were released and although Coos County cases dropped a bit, we are still in the Orange Zone according to the guidance for returning students to in-person instruction. This means we will not be bringing 4th-6th grade students back to school on December 7th. We will wait for the next set of metrics to come out on December 7th and, if they bring us into the yellow zone, make a decision to either bring students back December 14th or wait until after Winter Break. There are pros and cons to both sides of that decision. First and foremost we need our local case count to drop us back into the yellow zone. I continue to encourage you all to practice social distancing, wear a face covering, and wash your hands often. Let’s hope for a drop in cases in our county. I will continue to keep you posted on any and all updates as they come in. Have a great week!
Stay Safe, Stay Healthy,
