Another exciting week for Marshfield High School athletics is in store as the girls soccer, volleyball, football and boys cross country teams will be competing in the state tournaments.
The action gets under way Thursday, with the girls soccer team traveling to Hidden Valley for a round of 16 game. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:15 p.m.
On Friday, things heat up quickly as the top-ranked Marshfield volleyball team begins play in the OSAA state tournament at Springfield High School. The Pirates will have an early start with a match against Crook County High School at 8 a.m. The winner will face the winner of the Baker and Tillamook game at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The state championship game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday.
At 7 p.m. Friday, the Marshfield football team will open the playoffs at 7 p.m. with a game at Scappoose High School in the round of 16.
On Saturday morning, the boys cross country team will compete in the state championships at Lane Community College. The boys 4A race begins at 12:20 p.m. Alex Garcia-Silver will also be running for his second straight individual state title.
