Every member of the state champion Marshfield volleyball team will receive a state championship ring thanks to a generous donation from the Three Rivers Casino in Coos Bay.
Earlier this week, Chuck Baker, casino manager for Three Rivers in Coos Bay, and Council Woman Iliana Montiel from the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians, visited Marshfield High School and presented a check for $3,400 to the Marshfield volleyball team.
The money was donated to purchase state championship rings for all the players and coaches for the team after it captured the Class 4A state championship, the first volleyball state title in school history.
