It has been an amazing year for girls athletics at Marshfield High School, and the fun is just beginning.
On Friday, the Marshfield girls basketball team crushed visiting North Bend to clinch a share of the Sky-Em League title.
The Pirates tied for the league title with Marist Catholic after the teams split their two games in the regular season, and each went 7-1 in league play.
Marshfield, which is ranked 4th in Class 4A in the state, and Marist Catholic, which is ranked fifth, will face off in a tiebreaker tonight with a game at 7 p.m. at Siuslaw High School.
The winner will take the No. 1 seed into the playoffs while the loser will enter the postseason as the No. 2 seed.
After beating North Bend and clinching a share of the league title, the Marshfield players celebrated by cutting down the nets at the main gym at Marshfield High School.
