WRESTLING
Our state wrestlers and coaches are currently in Portland, OR at the OSAA State Championship held at Memorial Coliseum. The OSAA cancelled today, the first day of the wrestling tournament Thursday, February 23. According to the OSAA, the 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A Classifications will wrestle tomorrow in a one-day event, Friday, February 24. (Weather permitting)
BOYS BASKETBALL
Our boys’ basketball team earned a spot in the 4A Classification Play-in round. The boys will travel to La Grande High School Monday, February 27 with a 4:30 PM start time. Originally, the game was scheduled to play Saturday, February 25, but with the weather conditions, the OSAA has extended the cut-off date for the 4A Play-in to Monday, February 27. With a win, the boys would advance to the Sweet 16. The opponent in the round of 16 is yet to be determined. The round of 16 is scheduled to be played Friday or Saturday, March 3-4.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Our girls’ basketball team will play Astoria High School at North Eugene High School Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 PM. This game has been scheduled to help the two teams stay sharp as they prepare for their OSAA playoff game Friday, March 3. Note: Astoria and Marshfield are not scheduled to play on March 3. However, if they both are winners on March 3, they could see each other at the 4A OSAA State Championship at Forest Grove High School March 9-11.
